1作业前检查卷扬机滑轮、制动装置和钢丝绳等应工作可靠后方可使用。
 2、使用皮带和开式齿轮传动的部分，均须设防护罩，导向滑轮不得用开口拉板式滑轮。
 3、以动力正反转的卷扬机，卷筒旋转方向应与操纵开关上指示的方向一致。
 4、从卷筒中心线到一个导向滑轮的距离，带绳槽卷筒应大于卷筒宽度的15倍，无槽卷筒应大于20倍，当钢丝绳在卷筒中间位置时，滑轮的位置应与卷筒轴心垂直。
 5、操作人员须熟悉其卷扬机的构造性能，经培训、考核后方可操作。
 6、工作开始时，应将钢丝绳拉直后，方可正常运转，运转过程中，吊运物体不得碰到障碍物。
 7、卷筒上的钢丝绳应排列整齐，如发现重叠或斜绕时，应停机重新排列。
 8、任何人不得跨越正在作业的卷扬钢丝绳。物件提升后，操作人员不得离开卷扬机。休息时物件应降到固定面。
 9、卷扬机在工作中严禁注油、保养及修理。
 10卷扬机卷筒上的钢丝绳不可全部放出，至少应保留3圈，钢丝绳应从卷筒的下方引出。
 11、卷扬机的各项电气控制要灵敏有效，接地良好。
